Hong Kong Pools
Swimming is not only an enjoyable activity for the whole family to enjoy but it also has many physical and mental benefits. It is also a great way to relax and unwind from a busy day. So why not head to one of Hong Kong’s many fantastic pools and get soaking wet this summer?
Located on the golden shores of Castle Peak Bay, this beautiful hotel’s palm-fringed pools (one for adults and one for kids) are set beside the marina. The kids’ water park features a series of sprayers and floor fountains for the little ones to play with, while parents can kick back and relax on a lounger. There’s even a poolside bar for those who aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into the sea!
The rooftop pool at Asaya offers stunning views of Hong Kong’s skyline from day to night, and a serene environment to swim in. Exclusively for hotel guests, this 25-metre pool comes complete with chaise lounges together with a whirlpool and bar. If you’re feeling a bit peckish, the poolside restaurant serves up luscious snacks like Alaskan king crab rolls and strawberry mirlitons.
Another pool worth visiting is the seafront Ma On Shan Swimming Pool, which has a main pool overlooking Tolo Harbour along with training and teaching pools, and four waterslides including two of the city’s fastest, as well as a toddler pool featuring whimsical water installations such as mushroom and tree-shaped fountains. While most public pools have reopened, some have not yet been fully operational, due to staff shortages caused by the ongoing industrial action.
Fortunately, this issue is expected to be resolved in time for the summer season. For those who are keen to get into the pool, be sure to check online before heading out and make a note of the opening times for each pool. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has warned that some facilities may still be closed, such as leisure pools, paddling pools and waterslides.
